Skinny Oreo Truffles – 45 calories per truffle

Yes you read the title correctly.. I said ‘Skinny Oreo Truffles’. I think you might just love me after you make these <3 . My mum makes these all the time for me when I’m home and even tried to send them in the post but they never made it 🙁 I am convinced the postman ate them!

The original recipe uses full fat cream cheese. However I have an intolerance to a lot of cheeses but I find that light cream cheese doesn’t effect me as much so I have used the lightest version there is of Philadelphia! (Pheew) Hence why they are ‘skinny’. (Btw using the lighter version has no affect on the taste they are just as good)

Ingredients:

  • 2 packs of oreos
  • 200g of Philadelphia (lightest version)

philly-light

  • 200g of Cooking chocolate
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence (optional)

* Note you can include a scoop of whey protein (unflavored) to increase the protein content

Method:

  1. Crush the cookies to fine crumbs  in a resealable plastic bag using a rolling bin ( I had no rolling-pin so I used my feet!!). Reserve a small amount for later use

2.Place the crushed cookies in a medium bowl. Add cream cheese and vanilla essence; mix until well blended. Roll cookie mixture into small balls, about 1-inch in diameter

3. Refrigerate for 1 hour

4. After the Oreo balls have set, melt your cooking chocolate in the microwave or on the stove. Dip the balls in the chocolate until fully covered

5. Sprinkle the remaining amount of crushed cookies over them

6. Refrigerate until firm
