Ok so I have had this idea for quite sometime to set up a blog. I have often received facebook messages and mails asking me about the kind of trainings I do and type of food I eat etc etc to keep in shape. You will be surprised to know I actually eat quite a lot (my boyfriend can back me up on that) despite my frame, but its because I eat all the right foods and of course treat myself in moderation. Sooo first things first I am in NO WAY an expert in fitness and nutrition but I just have a really strong passion for it. Since my late teens I started getting into a lot of running and have so far completed two half marathons and a full marathon. During this time I read a lot about nutrition and the importance of fuelling your body correctly in order to perform at the best possible standard. I continue to take part in several events and have just signed myself up and my boyfriend Mike (I have to make him suffer too) for a duathlon in September. I’m going to have to take on a completely different approach to my training as its not just running. Our race will include a 10km run followed by a 22km cycle and then lastly a 5km run. We have slowly tested the waters as regards training and it isn’t very nice so be prepared for a lot of moaning on my behalf. My ideas at the moment for this blog is to offer you the opportunity to follow my journey as I attempt to take on various different challenges. Every challenge that I do I will be raising money for charity. For the duathlon in September both myself and Mike will be raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support. I haven’t set up the just giving page as it is a little while away yet but I will post it closer the time (all donations appreciated). I want to post easy recipes that have been tried and tested by myself. When I say easy, they are EASY, I am in no way a culinary expert so you can trust me when I say they are doable! I often find exercises online that I like and try and will post them too. If anything else sparks to mind I will include it as best I can.
I think thats all for my first post, but I’m really looking forward to starting properly and I hope you enjoy it!
